New Rules for Cascades

Subj:  An Offering of Peace, and Proposed New Rules for Cascades

In light of Stan's recent offering of a truce, I offer a permanent peace
between cascaders and cancellers, and propose new rules for cascades, that
no such hostilities should ever trouble us again.

NEW RULES FOR CASCADES

Proposed to:  all flame newsgroups and alt.fan.karl-malden.nose

1.  Every entry in a cascade shall include at least one (1) Complete Sentence
    (tm).

2.  The Complete Sentence (tm) may have at most three (3) buzzwords affixed.
    Examples of buzzwords are:
        fuckhead
        meow
        netcop
        me too
        moron
        (name of target of cascade)

3.  The buzzwords shall not be the principal element of the cascade entry.

4.  The Complete Sentence (tm) may not substantially duplicate a recognized
    buzzword, e.g. "Nogoodyen is a fuckhead" is not an acceptable Complete
    Sentence (tm).

5.  The Complete Sentence (tm) may not substantially repeat the Complete
    Sentence (tm) of any prior entry in the cascade.

6.  Exceptions to rule 5 may be made to point out that the immediately prior
    entry did not contain a Complete Sentence (tm).

7.  The Complete Sentence (tm) in the second and subsequent entries of a
    cascade should be a reply to the Complete Sentence (tm) in the prior
    entry.

8.  Anyone who posts to a cascade and fails to include a Complete Sentence
    (tm) is hereby declared to be a fuckhead, and is fair game for ridicule
    and possibly a new cascade in his/her honor.  Such cascade shall itself
    conform to these rules.

9.  As spelling and grammar flames are considered to be the mark of an
    incompetent flamer, a good-faith effort to include a Complete Sentence
    (tm) shall not invoke rule 8 merely because of incorrect spelling or
    grammar.  "This sentence no verb" is an acceptable Complete Sentence
    (tm).

10. Under no circumstances shall any cascade be crossposted to any newsgroup
    where cascades are not welcome.


These rules shall be posted to alt.flame and alt.fan.karl-malden.nose as a
FAQ, once per week, time permitting, for a period of three (3) months from
their acceptance by the denizens of the flame newsgroups.
