When I was traveling with the Marshall Tucker Band for the second time (it's all kind of a blur to me), I met up with a beautiful girl named Melissa Clarissa Joan. That's her over to the right. What a looker, huh? She was just crazy about me, too. Problem was, back then I never stayed with a woman long enough for my boots to get old. And right before I went into rehab for the first time, she had a baby boy. Wished she could come, but I didn't need no woman tagging along. By the time I cleaned up and got my boots resoled, she was gone forever. Guess it was time for me to head on down the line. Can't blame her for never wanting to see me again, but I would dearly love to meet my son and tell him his daddy loves him. He would be a freshman in high school now. I think she named him Bemis or Beaver or something like that... |
