No, this is a bad idea. Newsgroup invasions are ugly things, and I'd
hate for this group to get dragged in (and its special status is not
likely to delay any invasion for long, as only one person needs to
know the magic)

Do *not* feed the trolls. The meowers are far more powerful than the
usual trolls, in that they can be self-sustaining, but in the end, if
they're not fed, they'll go find someone else.

Then they need to upgrade their software ;) Someone's posted a link to
nfilter, but even if that doesn't work, people should be able to just
ignore their posts. If regulars keep getting trolled, try to convince
them by email not to respond. Discipline can help.

I've not a great deal of experience with the meowers (one mailing list
I'm on was an early target of hte meowers, and has thus moved lock,
stock, and barrel to a controlled format; I've also been on the other
side, where the meowers invaded a wrestling group that was trying to
take over alt.config). Like so much else in Usenet, they're a
double-edged sword.
