Rev. Meowentelburgstein<meow@meow.meow> did this:

What you guys need is a set date so you can determine who is an old meower and who is a new meower. Then you can go to groups.google.com and look at the meower's first post to alt.fan.karl-malden.nose to determine whether he's old school. Or you could even make a list to save time, something like this:
Apr 1996 IRS Agent, Raoul X Jul 1996 Azzy Aug 1996 The 2-Belo Apr 1997 Jason Gortician Mar 1999 The Queen of Cans and Jars Oct 1999 jet Apr 2001 Steve Leyland May 2002 Rev. Meowentelburgstein
I do foresee at least two problems with this approach. Should stray crossposts sent before the poster has converted to meow be counted? Should the date move ahead as years pass by and new meowers come to the fold? Perhaps it would be better to define an old meower as someone who has been around for more than, for example, three fourths of meow's lifespan. This would also give the newbies something they can look forward to. (Someone joining in 2006 would only have to wait for 30 years to become old meow!)
I'm sure you can work something out, as the weighty positives are equally apparent: No longer will an aspiring meower have to consider the merits of an opinion himself, but he can look up the list and quickly determine which side of an issue has more and older old meowers backing it. No longer will anyone be unclear about what meow stands for, and what are its objectives. I have every faith that with that kind of leadership your organization will once again become the unstoppable force of newsgroup destroying radical r3b3lz it once was!
Say, why do you keep adding alt.support.childfree to the Newsgroups header?
