Aside from newsgroup invasions, alt.bigfoot had little in common with the
meowers. alt.bigfoot was mainly a bunch of guys posting bad poetry about
Bigfoot and "mooses" (sic). Their doggerel often portrayed cats meeting a
horrible end (said to be a result of a dust-up with rec.pets.cats). They
disliked cascades; indeed in the pre-meow days one of the primary purposes
of cascades was to irritate the 'footers.
To sum up a few points of comparison between meowers and footers:
            Footers Meowers
            ------- -------
cats: hated them duh....
cascades: disliked them participate in them
alt.flame: hostile honored participants
The one bit of evidence for a meower-footer connection is that the meowers
got started about the time alt.bigfoot broke up. However, the preponderance
of evidence is against such a connection.
