Let me make it more understandable to you.
SPAM is mail which is unwelcome, it is of no interest to the person, or people that it is sent to. An off-topic post to a newsgroup, especially a post as off-topic as this thread has been, is as good as spam.

As far as 'getting pissy' goes. This thread has been nothing but utter rubbish from the time it stopped discussing the fact that The Queen Is Dead had been voted the best album of all time, which was around a month ago. It seems to have been added to by people with too much time on their hands. Is there nothing else that you are interested in, which you can spend your time contributing to?
No-one in the Smiths newsgroup is interested in this. I requested that the Smiths group was removed from the grouplist. Where's the problem?
