Fiat Lux

Propaganda is as the rape of minds. The purpose is always the mental enslavement of people and their drafting into the service of a certain, self proclaimed ruling elite with the faith based promises of benefits, from everlasting life to earthly wealth and prosperity.

The most popular gimmick of propaganda is the use of words out of their real meaning and context and then persuading people that the new meanings are now the realities. This way black becomes white, crime becomes morality, destruction becomes wealth creation, murder becomes heroism and human values are twisted beyond recognition.

The Nazis and communists were at least honest enough to admit that their mind bending exercises were propaganda and not "public relations" and "communications", as they are described today. According to Nazi propaganda they were winning WW2 till the very end, when their Propaganda Minister gave his last victorious broadcast, went home while dodging Russian bullets, poisoned his children and shot himself.

According to their propaganda machine the Soviets and their satellites were the freest people, living in the most democratic society on Earth, while twenty million slaves died in their gulags, beating even the Nazi record, surpassed only by Mao, whose camps killed twenty-five million, also in the name of freedom and democracy.

One of the most persistent lies of the present neo liberal, corporate propaganda machine is that capitalism beat communism and now globalized free enterprise is bringing democracy and wealth to all corners of the world. I was involved in the fight against communism in person and through the contacts that I have had behind the Iron Curtain for many years I know that communism was not beaten by capitalism, but by its own stupidity, corruption, inefficiency, brutal oppression, and because its propaganda machine finally ran out of steam and nobody believed in its promises any longer.

The same scenario has happened to all faith based ruling empires of the past and it is happening now to our capitalist system which has the biggest propaganda machine in human history, churning out garbage and lies by the truckload. What people don't realize is that much of TV advertising, for example, is not directed to sell products, but dreams and ideals. The smiling faces, the happy people shown in the pictures are representing dreams made possible by the corporate system that owns and controls business friendly governments, described as "serving the public interest" The message is the same that has been used by every religion and ideology since time immemorial: "Join us and you too can be happy, wealthy and live forever as one of the chosen!"

To achieve this mind control the first task of the manipulators is the creation of the condition of fear. Scared people are the most gullible and malleable, grabbing for straws to save themselves. Therefore, every ruling system must sell the idea that the rulers are the great defenders of freedom, society and the distributors of wealth and power. According to Hitler and his satellites, and I was there to hear all the speeches and words, the Axis powers were surrounded by a world of bloodthirsty pirates, poised to attack the freedoms of the Thousand Year Reich.

The communists built the Iron Curtain across Europe to prevent the downtrodden, working class victims of capitalism from flooding their so called "Workers' Paradise" and built thousands of nuclear weapons to blow up the world in its defence. Now we have perennial war and more thousands of nuclear weapons promised and poised by an unelected Dubya Bush and his satellites against a world of terrorists anxious to commit mass suicides in their attempts to wreck the democratic freedoms and glorious wealth creation of the capitalist system.

The largest security operations are building up around the Kananaskis resort as I am writing this, where the leaders, not bosses, of the G8 countries are to meet next week to solve the problems of Africa with promises that the globalized, free marketplace forced on them will bring them wealth, health and prosperity.

The commander of the Canadian army detachment and police forces have already stated that they won't hesitate to shoot and kill protesters who step out of line. According to the official propaganda anybody who questions the wealth creating intentions of the neo liberal ideology, forcing multinational corporate control on the global economy is automatically a terrorist, who must be eradicated without mercy.

The communists used to call it liquidation, but as the protests grew and grew from silent resistance to mass marches and finally open rebellion, they ran out of the will to kill and collapsed with a whimper. The same is happening to the glorious world of neo classical capitalism as we watch. Its excesses and growing corruption can no longer be covered up with the sweet talk of propaganda and more and more people around the world are beginning to see the lies and crime under the gilded varnish of unrealistic dreams..
