Fiat Lux

During my 35 years as a custom furniture designer and maker the single largest professional sector of my clients were medical doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists. When they realized that I knew quite a bit of their arts, many opened up and we had long talks about the effects of psychological warfare against humanity throughout history.

Propaganda is the raping of minds. It is the enslavement of minds and bodies for the service of self appointed aristocracies. Under the fascists, nazis and communists we called it brainwashing, now it is being used in the service of "globalization." The promises are always the same, the results always the suffering and death of millions and the ultimate collapse of the system.

There have been many instances in history when large nations and even continents have been brainwashed and forced into committing unspeakable crimes. The propaganda machines of the nazis and communists are very good examples of this and today we see it in the religious wars going in the Palestine, across Africa, on the Indian subcontinent, Indonesia and so on.

The list is endless, but doesn't come anywhere near the overall coverage, scope and damage done by what we call the neo-liberal, or neo classical economic theory, known as capitalism. This system is a total, worldwide distortion, denial and abrogation of common decency, morality, logic, and generally everything beautiful, noble and even remotely redeeming the human race learned in the past million and half years.
Regardless of continent, race, nationality, or colour the humans have always been prey to smooth talking snake oil salesmen who made it certain that their victims will remain their psychological slaves. Yet. the promise always was and is "freedom." Virtually all soldiers in all wars have gone to fight for freedom and died as slaves. This could never have been achieved without the use of brainwash.

When we put our TVs on the endless string of commercials are not advertising soap, junk foods and cars, but the desirability and invincibility of an ideological system, the new cargo cult of promised prosperity.

This is the system that covers our Earth with wealth creating toxic garbage and fills our doctors' and hospitals' waiting rooms with sick and miserable people who have no idea what is happening to them and blame everything except the obvious.

About 10 years ago a Swedish oncologist sent me some studies on various cancer causing chemicals in our food chain. One of the most disturbing results came from Germany with a page and a half of "volatile substances" contained in mother's milk. I had a lot of experience with this in my Cambridge days, when the professors assured us that the chemicals we were using in farming were perfectly safe. Luckily, I realized it soon enough to quit, but the people I was working with at the time have started dying of cancers in their early age and I may be the only one left of that group.

In our time the babies are loaded with chemicals the minute they are born and grow up on junk foods, colouring agents and preservatives, breakfast cereals and pops loaded with sugar and some of the worst poisons which are contained in diet drinks and foods. The air they breathe is full of toxic fumes and particles. The residues of birth control pills are in the waters and found even in the centre of the Pacific Ocean. Junk food outlets on every street corner are enticing them to spend their moneys and slowly poison themselves in the process.

The result is chronic illness. We have diabetes running out of control among young people. I've just read a statement by a family doctor practicing in the USA that he's never seen a diabetic case where the patient wasn't hooked on junk foods and not eating a proper diet. But then, what is a proper diet?

We are bombarded with advice to eat more vegetables and fruits, but are never told that those vegetables and fruits have been grown with artificial fertilizers, sprayed with pesticides,. soaked in preservatives to lengthen their shelf lives in the supermarkets, are in many cases irradiated.

The last five years have seen the expansion and pollution by genetically modified seeds and foods. It is now impossible to get a number of unmodified varieties, while our corrupt governments leave no stone unturned to prevent the public from knowing and expressing their free choice by rejecting them.

The excuse is that these products are perfectly safe and needed to feed the hungry billions of the world. Absolute lies. I have done a lot of reading on the subject and can forward any number of scientific papers to show that there isn't a single GM product on the market that had been independently tested for long term health and environmental effects.

The Prairies are now covered with herbicide proof canola, thanks to Monsanto. The yields are nothing of what the promises where and the farmers are tied to the excessive chemicals the crops need, breaking their budgets.

The federal government has just given the green light for secret experiments with GM wheat that prompted a large number of scientists to write letters and protests, claiming that the government doesn't have the slightest idea what they are getting into. Especially, because the world's people are rejecting GM products and if they pollute the Prairies with GM pollen, Canadian wheat will be unsaleable. So, what do our politicians say? "We'll put it into the hands of the WTO and force them to buy it." This called freedom and democracy in our age.
