THE RECORD

My world collapsed in 1945 when, at the age of 18, I realized that everything I have learned in school and in my early life were lies. I lost my family, my country, my language, my past and future and was a homeless refugee virtually without any hope in life.
Almost the same feeling of hopelessness hit me in 1985 when I discovered that the theory and concept of economic efficiency was wrongly defined in the textbooks and millions of people were suffering and dying every year on account of this error. This wrong definition may have started as an error, but over the years it became an inexcusable, criminal fraud which is now threatening the survival of our civilization. What is being taught in our universities as the so called "science of economics" is nothing more than the brainwash of young people into a life of legalized crime, no different than the teachings of Hitlerite Nazism and Stalinist communism. If anybody's willing to forward my words to any economics department, I'm ready and willing to repeat this charge to anybody who'd dare to dispute it.
It was a terrible shock to realize that the fate of billions of people could be judged and decided on the basis of such an error, so I didn't talk about it to anybody, with the exception of a few trusted friends, for about three years after the initial discovery. During those years I went to libraries, bought books and articles to discover how other economists were defining and treating the concept of economic efficiency. What I found was a shocking lack of any rational discussion of the subject.
Although huge numbers of people were already being destituted in the name of economic efficiency, 50 million losing their jobs in the G7 countries alone, many textbooks never even bothered to define it in any way shape or form. When corporations went on mass firing binges, downsizings and so called "cost cuttings" in the name of efficiency, economists applauded them without any research on whether the restructuring was really of any kind of economic benefit to society, or just neo-colonialist exploitation for the benefit of a few self appointed aristocrats. The history of the world since day one: Violence by bullies sanctified by the shamans as the "will of the gods."
After the first three years of research I ventured out to discuss these contradictions with scientists and a lot of people whose opinions I could respect. This went on for another three years and by that time there was no question in my and the minds of many highly educated and intelligent people, that the teachings of neoclassical economics, known as capitalism were a pile of fraudulent garbage. For example, some of my scientist friends who had to take economics courses as part of their Masters and PhD studies readily admitted that they knew it all the time that the answers they were forced to write into their term papers and exams were wrong, but they had no choice if they wanted to pass.
I'm jumping ahead some ten years here, but since I got onto economics forums debates and lists on the Internet in May of 1986, I have received many similar statements from students from all over the world saying the same thing: "We know that what we are forced to learn are lies, but we have no choice!" In one case a Canadian professor wrote to me that at their university not only the teaching staff was closely examined for their knowledge and capacity to teach this fraud, but even the students for their willingness and ability to absorb it.
Economics is claimed to be "the science for the distribution of resources" and the so called "efficiency" is supposed to be the key for the just and democratic form of distribution. But how can this be real, when this keyword is defined falsely and as the consequence a few people own and control most of the resources, while the vast majority are going more hungry, sick and destitute by the minute?
When I and others raise this question, the answer inevitably is: "It may mean a bit of hardship in the beginning, but on the long run globalization will bring on a level of efficiency that will create universal wealth and prosperity!"
My dear friends, I have been lied to all my life by experts and have no time to listen to the childish bleatings of some fried brain, pipsqueak economists who couldn't agree on what time it will be tomorrow at 3pm and couldn't add 2+2 to come up with the figure of 4.
By 1991 I had enough evidence and scientific proofs to make my own definition. Realizing that some clever professors must sooner of later discover the obvious I copyrighted it to establish the date. In the past 15 years and especially in the past 4, since my Principle has been on the Net, thousands of scientists and economists have read it, huffed and puffed over it, but nobody could break it, or prove it wrong. Nobody ever will.Copyright (c) 2000, West's International
