0 - 60 in 5.4 seconds (12/27/01)
The following image is a scan of a print out from the Autronic Engine Management System software. It shows throttle position and engine speed (rpm) for the first two gears. I have overlayed information onto the image that shows how the 0 - 60 mph time was calculated. As you will no doubt notice by the fact that the rpms in first gear start at approximately 3,500 rpm and drop to 1,700 rpm after the intial "bog", the car was not launched hard. With a good launch, I suspect that about 0.5 seconds could easily be shaved off the time. I will not be doing a 0 - 60 mph test with a hard launch in the near future, as this is not a good time to risk breaking any driveline parts, not that any time is a good time to break parts, but right after Christmas is usally when the wallet loses quite a bit of weight.
