Information on routing the
PCV on a Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185 to a catch can
To perform this mod you will need to locate
the PCV on the top of the valve cover. It is a long metal tube that comes
out from the left hand side (side near distributor) of the valve cover.
You will need to remove the hose from there and also from the intake where
it
leads to. The intake side of the hose is located on the metal intake tube,
between the two large rubber intake hoses (between turbo and Air Flow Meter).
Now you will need a can, I used one with a screw on cover, that was a smaller
diameter than the can itself. You will need to cut a hole for the hose
to push into, as well as lots of smaller holes at the top to allow the
PCV to breath. If you used a can with a cover, push the hose into the cover
until it will reach half way down the can, don't push it all the
way down otherwise the hose may hit the bottom of the can, and prevent
breathing. Now use two self tapping screws, to stop the hose from being
able to come out of the cover, screw one into the hose just above the cover,
and screw one into the hose just below the cover. You will need to find
somewhere to install the can in the engine bay. Once you have the can installed,
run the other end of the hose to the PCV on the valve cover. The last thing
you will need to do is block off the nozzle on the intake tube where the
PCV hose ran to. You can use a short piece of hose and find a bolt that
will fit tight into the hose. Coat the threads of the bolt with silicone
sealant and screw the bolt into the hose, then push it onto the nozzle,
and you are done.
